German born, Barcelona based Surf Champ Marc Piwko
German born, Barcelona based surf champ Marc Piwko was one of the first TBBS Friends. He also regularly sends in pics for #thisiswheribrush. Marc was so kind to answer a few of our questions while studying for exams and preparing a trip to Nicaragua.
Can you tell us who you are and what you do for a living?
My full name is Marc Alejandro Piwko Romero, I’m 21 years old and I was raised in Barcelona. Currently I’m studying and surfing on a semi-professional level.
Why do you support The Bamboo Brush Society?
It is time that we start looking for solutions to the rapidly increasing amount of plastic that is produced and thrown away, causing harm to our precious environment.
What do you think of the Bamboo toothbrush?
It is a sustainable source of clean teeth!

You have been travelling a lot around the world . What’s the best spot you have brushed your teeth?
That would be the Maldives! Crystal clear water and perfect waves. I surely passed the 2 minute mark every time I was brushing my teeth...
How is 2017 looking for you? What are you most excited about?
I’m looking forward to more adventures, new friends, enlightment by other cultures and traditions and of course good waves.
What’s your best travel story?
The best travel story regarding serious laughing happened in the airport in Qatar when we walked into a makeup store and one of our friends walked out of there disguised as local. We had put dark brown makeup all over his face and he walked around the airport pretending he could speak arabic. No offense to the local people was intended though!

What is the last film/series you watched?
The last series was Big Bang Theory and the last movie a documentary from ‘ The Doors’. Jim Morrison was a beast!

Good music, good videos, books and competition inspire me. I also like watching or listening to TED talks!
If you can go on a trip tomorrow to any place in the world, where would you go?
I would book an around the world ticket and fly to south Africa first!
